Does anyone have experience with the Rottweiler breed? Are the females usually same sex aggressive with other females?
Hello, I have never had one but love them. The only expire nice I have is from having them coming to our training class...where I fell in love with them. I would say that it's dependent on the individual to each dog. All if he ones I met were coping in a class setting really well and were very sociable creatures....but they had been raised using modern positive training methods (usually clicker trained) and had been really thoroughly socialised. Any little glitches were treated the advice from the trainer who is a behaviourist so there was NO dominance pack theory applied, and they passed through any issues. Hopefully someone who has rotties will come and answer. I think there used to be a lady on here with five.
Hello, yes, In basic you can say that female Rottweilers can be aggressive against same sex. They are dominant breed, so if the owner make mistakes in start with them they can be aggressive - male and female. But with good owner they a great dogs, and can do everything. You can read about Rottweiler male - female differences here: https://www.germanrottweilersfp.com/differences-between-males-and-females-rottweiler/
Hello Ivan and welcome to Breedia. However this thread is from 4½ years ago and I do not think either of the above members are still around.
No problem Ivan - there are still many of us around so even if I, for one, know nothing about your breed, there are probably more who do! Stick with us Ivan - Breedia is a really nice fourm and we are really nice people who do out best to help and advise as much as we can!
