6 month old Alaskan Malamute Puppy

    Hello Everyone!

This is my first post and first time owning an alaskan malamute. He is a 6 month old male and recently we have noticed that hes been sneezing a eating at his paws a bit. Initially we thought it was allergies but benadryl does not seem to do much for him. As of last Wednesday he has had yellow diarrhea, at times a little more consistent but still loose none the less. We have him on antibiotics now per the vets instructions but his stool has not seemed to change. We have been told it may now be a food allergy. He has been eating puppy formula Taste of the Wild brand food since we brought him home and his treats are all the Blue Buffalo healthy bars. He has not been lethargic or acting out of character but we are extremely puzzled as to why his stool is as loose and yellow as it is. Has anything similar happened to anyone else's mal?

Much the same things happened when we first got Everest minus the chewing paw part. Changed the food and hey presto. Solved.

Vet said it was less about brand and more about main protein source. We went from chicken based to lamb based or vice versa and it did the trick.

Try him on a Salmon and Potato. Novel protein source. Then see how it goes.

It does sound very much like a food allergy problem
