Perhaps we would be better to take more of a neutral view here: Boxers have quite few health issues, even in best of breeding there can be issues. Breeders can strive for perfection yet always yearn to go that bit further to perfect, that is human nature. Think if this dog has a health issue it will possibly be one that is already known within the breed.

X- rays suggest a skeletal problem. Perhaps the Poster could clarify.

Hi sorry to hear you have a problem with your boxer. If you post your dogs pedigree i will confirm if its the same lines or not and we can go from there.Even the date of birth if you are not happy putting the pedigree on.Some people got quite defensive of the breeder in question but i wonder if they would if they had had the same problems that i have had with my poor boxer bitch.I can understand this,if they have had boxers of the breeder and they have always been healthy dogs or they know of people who have had no problems with the breeder, but, that doesnt mean that everybody has had no problems and i certainly have problems with my poor boxer girl.

Its not a case of getting defensive over a breeder , it was simply a response to the cryptic questions you put asked.

From the tone of your thread, you were seeking others to back up your grievance with said breeder, which in some circles could be taken for slander, as lets face it you did not give any info as to what`s wrong, all you did was insinuate the breeder was not ethical.

We can only guess at your problem, (as you did not give any info ) if could be breeder error or nurture error, or just one of those things, that even the best breeder cant foresee, so given the fraction of info you gave, you cant blame others for not jumping to help you slander someone.

You asked if anyone knew them, a few of us do , or heard their name at least, the rest I am not sure what you are after.

p.s....... I understand your distress concerning your baby, but if it was me, I would be seeking proof, that the breeder knowingly bred unhealthy dogs, and then take it up with her/him and the breed club/KC.

Hi am no expert but if you think you have a case against your breeder then I would take any further discussion offline about this. Slander/libel is not something you would want to add to things (not saying that what you have said is anything of the sort yet) and it could affect any cas e you may have if posts such as these were called into question

As other have said you can try as hard as you can but sometimes nature will throw in a curve ball which is out of your hands

Should it be HD you are referring to as far as I am aware you breed as carefully as you can and sometimes it can just happen

I hope your pup is happy despite her issues and you can keep her that way

Again assuming it is HD surely you would have checked the parents and bloodline for scores?

As hard as it may sound it is a case of Caveat emptor.

To be honest you havent told us what these problems are, so you are inviting people to guess or assume, thus making it unpleasant to get involved with.

    Hi
Sorry to hear of your problems. Our boy is 9 1/2 mths now. Born 31/3/12. We have just had a diagnosis of HD & have been told surgery is only option. Would appreciate any info re recovery period & how others have coped! We are as you can imagine devastated by this news & just hope that their will be a positive outlook for our boy :(

Even breeding a dog & bitch with perfect hips together does not guarantee that the offspring will not have HD as HD is not just genetic is it also now to the environs, care & diet of the individual dog(this is a legal fact here in the UK)so you cannot blame the breeder totally

I'm surprised a vet is advocating operating on an immature dog as the pelvis/joints concerned will not have finished growing until the dog is around 18 months of age. Is this an Orthopedic specialist ?

Yes it is an orth specialist. It is quite widely known that the TPO surgery needs to be performed before the dog reaches 10mths in order to see effective results.

We are not for any second suggesting that this is solely a breeder issue however Bala's mum's posts have certainly concerned us, given that our dog is from the same breeder & possibly the same litter. We are aware of the environmental factors which can contribute, also we are aware that boxers are susceptible to HD.

All we want is the best for our boy and the best possible outlook for his life and any info which will help this is much appreciated.

    Hi Balas mum and Flickers,

I recommend one (or both) of you start a thread in the health section posting information about your dog's condition (including scans of vet reports etc) and ask for opinions on whether the condition is something a breeder could have prevented (without mentioning the breeder's name).

Then you can take the replies into account and seek legal advice / pursue legal action.

Unfortunately we can't allow threads containing content that could be deemed as slanderous due to legal reasons.

    Thanks for your understanding.

Bit late for that, her name and the kennel affix are all over the thread and its title. ;-)

Please note we only replied to an existing thread, perhaps admin should have noted this much earlier. For the record we didn't mention any names and only found this thread via a search engine when researching our predicament. We certainly have no intention of badmouthing or slandering anybody and as have stated in all our posts, are only looking for help in caring for our boy's needs.

    Who is we?

Regardless, the kennel and breeders name is here. If it were me, Id have no problem with it, but I sure as hell would have expected puppy buyers to have come back to me before airing their grievances on a public forum!

WE is my partner & I. & WE have never stated that WE have not been in contact with the breeder. Also WE innocently commented on a pre existing forum (dated Oct 2012) which mentioned a breeders name.

WE have never used this name on the forum, only confirmed that our boy is from the same breeder. WE apologise for any upset this may have caused. WE are not airing grievances, As WE have stated, WE only want to do the best for our boy and are not interested in slandering or badmouthing anybody. WE hope this clears things up ;)
