does anyone else's akita just hate akitas?

Just wondering if it's my dog being picky or if anyone else has this problem.
My akita is pretty good with dogs, I never let her off lead with the small ones but large breeds she's plays with at the park. However she just seems to hate fellow akitas, there's quite a few of them in my local area due to a local breeder and as soon as she she's one she goes crazy and tries to attack.
    Anyone else?

Mine were not good with other strange dogs in general, luckily there wasn’t any other Akitas in my area but dog shows were a nightmare as the sight of another Akita male or female, made them worse and I had to keep my eye on them constantly.

My old Akita was good with all other dogs regardless of sex, size or breed. She would play with anyone and everyone.

Did you trained her so that she will be sociable? My dog also hates stranger paws everytime we allow her to play outside.

They are so unbelievably clever, I did not know a dog could have the intelligence level my akita does. I didn't think a dog could distinguish a particular breed and take a disliking to it. I don't envy you being in that position I would not like to be enclosed at a dog show with other akitas, her drive to attack then is just too strong.
I don't think there's a breed she hasn't met now and it's the only one she really doesn't like.

She had the same socialisation as my GSDs. Off lead from the day she was on the ground meeting other dogs, people and children. Exercised with other dogs everyday. She lived with two GSD bitches when we first got her and in her lifetime we added three other dogs, a GSD x Akita bitch and GSDx brother and sister. We never had a cross word or any conflict between any of them.

I haven't seen another Akita yet on my walks so I don't know, she's 5+ months old and likes to immediately challenge (in a calm way) other dogs to see what they'll do, mainly try and put both paws on their shoulders, if they respond nicely she stops and is friendly, if they challenge back then a bit of growling goes on and I back her off and calm her down before any bad blood takes hold.

Other dogs seem to know instinctively how dangerous an Akita can be and they give off that nervous vibe, so meeting another Akita for me is something I don't crave to be honest.

She loves all women though and immediately goes into a "wiggle butt" dance when one approaches, but as for men she is very weary until I show her through body language there is no reason to fear.

However I don't want her to be automatically accepting to strangers, I want her alert if anything bad should happen. We live in a world now where people can just assault or kill you on the street for doing nothing, people have been assaulted and their dogs stolen in front of them before, with an Akita its like carrying a rifle over your shoulder.
