English/welsh springer.... Questions

whats the difference????


Im asking because Millies dad is from wales, therefore assuming a welsh springer??

is there differences in their look etc??


dosent matter to me what she is - whether shes springer x e.t im just curious,,,

There is quite a big difference, in looks at least, but I don't know about temperament etc.

Welsh Springers come in 1 colour - red & white. I think the Welsh are smaller, and they have smaller ears!

Welsh springers are smaller than there show counter parts are rich red and white and have smaller vine shaped ears. Temprament wise there just slighly more laid back than an English, and we dont have a split between working and show strains. As you probably know show English are quite heavily bones and have longer ears than the working.
They are a pedigree in there own right and geography doesnt matter (although its thought they originated from the Welsh valley's).

i think her dad was welsh then - he's red and white - quite small ears

she herself (being a x anyway) has small ears, and i think shes quite diddy anyhow

i thought welsh as englishes have quite short noses - is that correct?? as i refer to millie as 'box face' - as she has quite a long snout.....

By red there a very rich chestnut colour and there ears arent shaped like the others in the spaniel group, put a picture on and I'll be able to tell you if its a welsh or English

Maybe I'm wrong suze but forgive me here, I think as a black colour she wouldn't be welsh as going by her colouring. She is a cutie with lovely cuddly ear's.xxx

her mum was black and white - springer x collie

thats where imo the markings have come from,,,, collie
her dad is red/white and full springer


in the sun she hsa shades of brown - its so cute

i think her spaniel bits look Englishy, Welshys look more ....well Welshy!!!!!

I doubt she has welsh in her she looks like shes got liver and white wnglish in there, if she had Welsh I'd expect a lot more more white. Do you have her dads pedigree?. Also Welshies are a lot lighter red and the ears arent quite long enough they have to hang below the check,

ano shes x collie as well,,, which i think is whyn her markings are as they are - i think....??

i dont have her dads pedigree - her mum was also a cross - sooo..... gawd knows wht else she has in her lmao!

her brother is tan and white and a really heavy set dog - her other sisters and brother are all black and white and look mroe like collies.....

its just her and her brother are the only spaniel looking dogs

so everyones guesses shes ESSx???

I would say bc x ess too, welshies are very different in looks and I can't see it in her. JMO.
