    Thank you!

As someone on the other thread pointed out, because the breed is only 50 years old there's still quite a bit of variation between one Eurasier and another. The biggest difference is in how reserved they are with strangers. Mine isn't at all, but at the other extreme are those who will back away when someone they don't know well goes to touch them. Makes it difficult to show them sometimes, especially when the judge doesn't understand the breed.

As they're bred to be companion dogs, they form a very strong bond with members of the family. Temperamentally they're generally calm indoors and lively / playful outdoors. I'd say easier to train than most Spitz breeds; certainly less independent and stubborn than the average Samoyed. They'll take as much exercise as they can get, but don't really need as much as sled dogs for example.

Fire away if you have more questions!

Thanks for the response. What size do they average hight/weight. Do they come in any other colours and patterns, and are any that arn't accepted. Also, are there any health issues in the breed, and what, if any halth tests should be done before breeding.

    Thanks in advance.

Average height: males 56cm, females 52cm. Average weight: males 26kg, females 22kg.

Lots of different colours, including black, black & tan, cream, fawn, light grey, wolf grey, red, and combinations of all those and more. Puppies often have a black facial mask which usually fades by adulthood. One of the fun things about the breed is how coat colour often changes dramatically over time. The only colours not permitted are white and pinto.

No major health issues, though there does seem to be a higher than average incidence of thyroid problems emerging. Health tests before breeding: screening of hips, elbows, patellas and eyes all recommended. Also a basic thyroid test, with a full panel recommended if there are problems anywhere in either dog's lines.
