I personally have not bred before but my mum has bred rough collies before lots when i was little, so not only am i researching for a husband i am also looking at breedin, hand rearing any thing to do with breedin really.
And no she doesnt carry liver she is a very pure solid black, who today got 2 5th places at a show one was a class of 8 and other of 12, and we got lots of nice comments.

One thing you could get is 'The Book Of The Bitch ' by Evans and White, I have found it to be invaluable and always good to have on hand. :)

    What show were you at?
Could you ask her breeder for help and advice with researching a husband? Surely the breeder should be a first port of call...was she sold with any exclusions on breeding?

    She sounds lovely...any pics?

    Where is she from?

That book sounds good will have a look on amazon, cheers.

Her breeder is lovely Im sure she will help me, we had no exclusions she knew we wanted to breed her so we would have one of hers. I got her from Witney, Oxon, she is Idawood breeding working line but is doing very well at showing also.

We were at Sheringham Limited show, River was the only Flattie there, boo :-( I love it when I meet other flat coat owners and meeting the dogs, they all get on so well with each other, its like they home in on one another.

My partner is in the process of downloading all our photos onto his laptop so that i can post some on here, the only one at the moment is on my profile page.

Your girl sounds lovely and I look forwad to the pics. I am surprised that the breeder sold her with no exclusions though as it is hard to tell ifa dog is worth breeding from until they mature.
Flat Coats are a breed that are still dual purpose and there should be no real division between showing and working 'lines', they should all be able to do both and the FCRS are fighting to make sure that it stays that way, as I'm sure you know.

Thanks I think she is gorge too but I'm biased!
It was at Suffolk Kennel Association, unfortunately not many there, they prob wont hold a flat coat class next year as of lack of support this year, River won her junior class and the open class.
