Hello folks it's been a long time. Training Classes?

Hi everyone sorry it has been so long since I got in touch. Can someone tell me more about the pastoral group as we have recently have bought a Hugarian Puli, Dylan, and althogh the things that he does at the moment aren't a big issue they may become one . Also training classes in my area are a bit hard to find HELP.

    Hi Sarah, welcome back

Just wondering regarding the dog training whether you have checked for local trainers in your area which are apdt registered Click here for info..

Otherwise have you tried calling your local vet, some vets do training courses too - thats where our puppy is currently being trained

    Hope this helps

    WB!

A Puli, no less? Stupendous dogs, a relative of the Komondor, if I'm not mistaken (or prematurely senile  ). Not exactly the local mutt, then! Quite unusual! I'm envious (and I haven't seen a pic yet!).

Bred originally as sheep-guarding dogs, methinks, so deff "Pastoral", I'd surmise.

My doc's receptionist/secretary has a Komondor (like a Puli?, but all white) and enters it at Crufts, most years. A big, lollopy Rasta!

Does Dylan have the iron loop bell I've seen in my dog-book pics?

    Hi Snorri
No Dylan does not have a bell, but he is starting to get his curly cords. which reminds me tht he needs a bath. Pulis are smaller than a Commodore and usually come in black, although white and apricot can occur sometimes. His Herding instincts are deffinitely comming through, especially when the children come home from school,he goes for trouser legs, my older dog Gus certainly gts rouded up all the time. Dylan is gorgeous and has a really expressive posture, and is so loyal.
We are hoping to put Dylan into showing but it is finding daog/puppy training classes that is the problem, in this area ther just aren't any.
