I have just been outside watching ISS - the International Space Station - passing past. Not overhead but from NW to SSE - just seen in high up in the sky not, as I said, overhead. It does not matter whether I see it as just now, or at times it really has been overhead and so much clearer. I just look at the sky and watch it and think "there are men up there". And I know they cannot see me but I wave to them. Magic. It is like magic. And I am of an age when I went outside and looked at the moon and realised that man had landed on it. Am I really that old that seeing ISS going across the sky still gives me a thrill - and a shiver?
Oh, and I waved to Neil Armstrong when he set foot on the moon as well. AFAICR it was the middle of the night. That was a lifetime moment whereas the ISS is an ongoing mission. But it is still strange to realise that there are men up there in what I watch going over.
