    Shivers

Hi All, I'm a concerned owner from South Africa looking for some help. I recently bought a 10 week old JRT for my daughter. We took her for her first vaccines today and ever since she has been very shivery and also withdrawn. A big reduction in her appetite is also noticeable. Is this normal? Please help me.

Hello Dwaine and welcome to Breedia from Tikva and from me.

Your little JRT is a baby who has left her momma and littermates to live in a strange place with strange people she is probably still getting used to - then off to another strange place and had a needle stuck in her - possibly also having a good check over by your vet.

I would not worry about her being shivery and withdrawn at the moment, give her a few days to get over it before you start panicking, and then check with your vet if she is still like that.

Regarding a reduction in appetite is also understandable. Is she drinking, peeing, pooing OK?

When you say recently bought, how recently.

If you have had her over a few days, I would ring the vet and explain the symptoms. It could be a reaction to the shot.
