Spaniel x Weimaraner???? Discussions

Apologies for the spelling!!

I have just seen an advert for the above cross. What on earth?

I have nothing against intended crosses, I have one myself but that is the strangest mix I have ever seen!

Any thoughts?? I am trying to imagine what these would look like!!

Really? I can think of a hell of a lot stranger. I would not be surprised by a dog of that cross (I have one similar).

I would be more surprised by seeing the cross you have tbf.

Don't think it would look that strange, will probably be a very nice looking dog (imo). I have heard of a lot stranger crosses!

I imagine they would be brown (or liver if you prefer) with maybe a flash of white, and not look too dissimilar to a German Shorthaired Pointer.

I've seen GWP x springers and they looked like little GWP's, nice looking dog.

Just Googled images of this cross and they appear to look like solid liver GSP's, probably smaller though.

I wouldnt say it's a strange mix, it would have it's uses unlike many crosses appearing everywhere.

Charlie is absolutley gorgeous!! More than absolutley gorgeous. I have asked for some pictures from the breeder out of interest.

Sorry if I have offended anyone, I have just never heard of that cross before and the site that I look at has the strangest of crosses advertised.

I have seen many littlers of the cross that I have, but have never seen the spaniel x weim. Was just giving an opinion, not asking for criticism of my dog.

I warn you, he is a handfull!!! Sadly hes not mine but i walk him 10 or 12 times a month and hes barely even panting by the end of a 2 hour walk!!

Wouldnt change him though hes brilliant

I am sure if you go on certain websites you will find numerous examples of weimaraner x .(insert relevent gundog)

ESS, HV, HWV, Labrador,GSP the list is almost endless

FYI, the first picture of him sitting is how he sits himself if you tell him too.....
You can walkk all the way round him and he just sits like that lol

No criticism intended. Merely stating a fact as I would see it.

If I saw a Jug advertised I would be surprised as it seems an odd cross. A Spaniel x Weimaraner would not surprise me at all. I intended no offence in what I posted.
My Weimaraner x was done as a deliberate thing for working (so I was told) - hence why it would not surprise me.

If I saw a Jug advertised I'd think it was in the wrong section!

That is NOT criticism of anyones dog!

I know the above thread is a month old but felt I should also show off Poppy, our Weimaraner x Englidh Spaniel Cross. She is just over 1 and like , Charlie, she is also a handful but great fun.

I've had so many people come up to her saying how lovely she is and asking what breed she is.





Who knows one day I might breed from her with another Weimaraner x Spaniel Cross

Do you know someone once approached me in the park when Oscar was still a youngster. They wanted to use him at stud to his Weimaraner as they were hoping to create a new "chocolate" Pointer. So I asked what German Shorthaired Pointers were for. He was a bit stumped to say the least, what a plank!

I also said I was perfectly capable of pointing out chocolate myself and certainly didn't need a dog to do it for me!

Oh good, just what the world needs............... another x breed
