Walking a 10 year old Akita

Hello! I've recently fostered a 10 year old American Akita, she is extremely calm & chilled out.

We went for a walk this morning and got about three houses down before she decided to completely stop, so we went back home. She gets very excited when she thinks it's walk time so just seeing if anyone has any tips/ would recommend walking her every day still at her age?

    Hi Aimee,
Has your foster Akita had a vet check? Could it be possible that she has some pain in her joints?
Assuming that she is sound, dogs do benefit from an appropriate level of exercise, whatever their age. If she has come to a new area, she may be unsure of her surroundings. Pop a few small tasty treats in your pocket, and encourage her to go a little further on each walk, rewarding her for keeping with you.
