Welsh springer spaniels - Juping up.

Hello im new to this site and i have a 16 week old wss and was wondering if there were any other wss owners out there. Dylan is the first dog i have owned and he is wonderful except for jumping up and i was hoping someone could give me some advice, ive tried ignoring him but it doesnt seem to be helping.

    Hi Nina,
Welcome, I've had welshies for 18 years now and just had my first litter on Tuesday (I've always had dogs)
They are a very boisterious breed and like a loty of love and attention. When mine jump up I gently put them back down by moving the shoulders and say no.
You could try a local dog obedience class most welshies benifit from a bit of a push, but they tend to be a clever dog and some have gone on to get gold obedience.
I'd love to see some photos and his pedigree

aw congratulations, It took us nearly a year for us to get Dylan, welshies seem so hard to find. We started classes four weeks ago and at first dylan was very shy and hid under a chair but now he has come out of his shell and runs about with the others.

    his parents are:
    sh ch taimeres paprika
    taimeres triona

    grandparents:
    sh ch taimeres tabasco
    heronsmere crystal rose

sh ch menstonia milton of haselmount
sh ch taimeres time after time

    great grandparents
    dalati sgweir
    sc ch taimeres tiercel

    sh ch taimeres tempest
    sh ch heronsmere rose bowl

    sh ch mynyddmaen
    menstonia misty moments

sc ch weslave back to the futurejw
    sh ch taimeres tercel

hope this makes some sort of sense, having problems connecting my camera but will post some photos soon.

Makes more sense than you can imagine, Mrs Tain who breed Dylan is a close personal friend of mine and in fact mu pups have an almost matching pedigree as there dads William (Paprika). Your pups mum is a repeat mating of Bronwyns dad, Hope that makes sense.
Perservere at classes Welshie can be a bit shy, cant wait to see a picture saw your pup a few days after it was born.
    whats his pedigree name??

his pedigree name is taimeres caraway he is the small one with lots of red on his back, he is a proper sweetheart and really loves a cuddle. The last week or so he has really come out of his shell and now wants to meet all the dogs on the field when we go out.

    Hi :)
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I have just joined the forum, did a search on Welsh Springers, found this post and - well - my 2 year old Welsh Springer has the same Dad as Dylan - what a co-incidence! Seems so long ago since my girl was a puppy ... she was extremely lively and I lost some weight keeping up with her antics in those early months!
Nice to find some fellow Welshie owners ...
    - Helen.

Aw - I haven't seen any of Tilly's siblings since they were tiny.
The puppies are all gorgeous. :) It must be wonderful watching them every day. I remember visiting Tilly's litter at 4 weeks and being mesmerised by them.
Now I must go and find a photo of my madam!

AW WOW, What a small world hey all this half brothers and sisters together. I promise I will get some photos of Dylan on here by Sunday. Dylan is now about 21 weeks old and unfortuantly we have just failed our bronze kk award on our 1 minute stay how they expect a pup to sit still in a room full of dogs I dont know, anyway we are going to try again on the 28/4/07 so fingers crossed.
