    Wow, she's a stunner Phil.

I saw Chris Amoo's BIG Champion dog at the Houndshow on Saturday, ( he went Best of Breed), - I thought he was a really impressive dog.

Hands off Azz - I want her. What a perfect match she'd be for Chico.

Gorguss - but my shrimp wonders why Willow gets fed four times a day as she has decided that three are enough for her. Mind you, she does have a tiny tummy...

Willow is absolutely beautiful Phil, but I do miss the old fellow.

Lovely! The people who own the sire of my flat coat also have Irish wolfhounds, the guy is an ex Jockey and his daughters are tiny as well, small enough to ride them!

She had her 8 week vaccinations today and she slept through the whole experience. Weighed just shy of 9 Kg which was a shock.

    Aye - she's a good weight.

Karen says I'll have to carry her when she's back for her next jabs.

As a person who has done giant breeds for a long time.
Just going to tell you now, take tons of photos, you are going to be shock how quickly she will grow for the next year.
Also 2nd 9kg is a very good weight.

I'll be sure to take plenty of pics. Time moves fast especially for the big dogs.

When you say a good weight, do you mean a heavy weight or correct weight.

    I've been looking at this.........

    By her photo. correct.
With giant breeds you can not go by the charts. There very much like humans, according to lines and parents, she could be 100lbs or 45kg to 200lbs or 90kg full grown.
Most of it is looking at there weight once she is 5 or 6 months and how her build is.
Look for a outline of 3 ribs or if you close your fist applying gentle pressure you easily feel the ribs, she is at a fine weight.

Back the vets today for her 10 week check and second vaccinations. All seems well and she's grown to just shy of 11kg

I think that Willow is gonna be A Very Big Girl.

But then I thought that "It" was going to be a lightweight and so far I am wrong.

Not to worry, tittle says if Willow bends down she will give her a polite kiss [but tell lovely Willow that "It" has teeth.

    Thanks folks.

I don't think she'll be 'silly big' by Wolfhound standards - partly because she's a bitch and partly because of breeding.

That's not a bad thing all considered but I'm sure to those unfamiliar with meeting an Irish Wolfhound 'face to face' she will seem large.

I must admit it was funny at the vets today. People wonder why you're 'carrying' n 11kg dog that's nearly four feet long and you tell them she's not old enough to go down yet because she's not had her vaccinations lol.

A bit of puppy vaginitis to deal with this week but nothing to unusual.

Karen and I have both remarked that when you get a Wolfie pup - you don't get them at that little puppy stage.

Still strange seeing pups a third of her size already allowed to be out and about.

    Socialisation can be an issue.

By the time pup is old enough to go out for walks after after second vaccinations they can be getting on for the size of a lab.

The world is new to them and other dogs don't always see them as pups. Same goes for people who may not realise it's their first time out in the big world.
