My hubby has fallen in love with the breed. theres a surprise, he has always said he dislikes small breeds. He is asking me all sorts of questions that I can't answer, he thinks because I spend most of my time on Dogsey I know everything So can someone please tell us; What was their original purpose? you know like collies herd sheep. They appear to be all different sizes, are they, or is it just that sometimes they are small and sometimes tall? They obviously need a fair bit of grooming, but do they need to be clipped regularly? Or can their coat be left long? I shall probably think of more questions in a while
My gut feeling was that there were ratters and i looked it up and was right! Here is a link to a yorkie site. http://www.yorkshireterriersavvy.com/
Thanks Cat, I wondered about being rat catchers too. There is only one dog that Mo will allow in our house and it is a friends Yorkie. I think this is what has endeared them to my hubby. I'm off to have a look around that site now
I had been looking for another little dog to join our family . I already have a Pug and Poodle. I spotted a Yorkshire Terrier , an ex breeeding dog on a rescue site. I have been so pleasantly surprised at how active and interested in everything she is. A very fiesty little character indeed. Mary
Thanks melzy Yes Mary, that is what I have always admired about them, they are so full of courage for such a little dog.
