    My Story:
My first Boxer was given to me in 1984. Although I have had other breeds, I fell in love with the Boxer personality and have had Boxers since then. I have been active in Boxer rescue since the early 1990's. I specialize in older Boxers or handicapped Boxers that are difficult to place. One of my Boxers, a three legged Boxer, was a therapy dog and was inducted into the MN Dog Hall of Fame for his work in schools, hospitals, nursing homes and demonstrating obedience and agility at the MN State Fair.

I have never bought a puppy, and the youngest Boxer I have rescued was about 8 months old. I currently have a blind Boxer who had both eyes enucleated because he was hit by a truck. He has just received his Therapy Dog International certification. He is a wonderful dog, and we have already started working to teach children that handicaps do not have to keep them from learning. I plan to take him to visit organizations for the blind as well.

I am a widow, just about ready to retire. I live in the country on 3 acres with a river flowing through my property. I also live on a dead end dirt road, which makes it nice as we have no leash laws and I can take my dogs for walks without worry about traffic or breaking the law. I do pick up my dogs' feces, in case you wondered, and I also have a two acres of my property fenced so the dogs are contained except when I am supervising them on walks off my property.

I have always loved dogs, all breeds, but Boxers fit my lifestyle and emotional needs. Best regards, Diana of Sunrise River Boxers, a rescuer, not a breeder
