- My Story:
-
I live in the largest gated, golf cart accessible community in the world, located in beautiful Central Florida. My non-dog-loving neighbors adore my beautiful black Lab, a rescue, who thinks she is the neighborhood greeter. She positions herself at the top of the driveway, rolls tennis balls into the street, and then lays down to wait for the unsuspecting to stop his/her golf cart/car to get out and throw the ball to her.
After my beloved 9 year old, cancer riddled black Lab was put down at the University of Florida Pet Emergency facility, I knew life would be empty without another Lab in my life. I contacted Lab Rescue in Gainesville, FL, and found my Happy. Happy had been enrolled in the Orange County (FL) Sheriff's Dept drug-sniffing school for two months before being returned to Lab Rescue in Gainesville, FL, which turned into their loss and my gain.
Happy is a true retriever. She'll retrieve golf balls off the green, tennis balls, chocolate brownies, cupcakes, grease/aluminum foil from the grill grease-trap, toads, lizards and (attempted retrieve) skunks. The girl has the stomach of a goat.
