    GSP puppy obedience training

Hello! I am preparing to bring home a new GSP pup. I have decided that I want to do obedience training with my breeder but I am not sure if I should do it immediately at 8 weeks or take her home for a few months first and then send her back. Any thoughts on this?

Do you mean send her back to the breeder to be trained?
I'm sure you will build a stronger bond, and have more lasting results if you train her yourself - aided by some lessons from a positive trainer of course. A good puppy book, like Gwen Bailey's, The Perfect Puppy, should get you started on the basics, and you won't be able to do much more until her vaccinations are completed. When she can go out and about, work on her socialisation. Gently introduce her to as wide a range of situations and experiences as you can while you are waiting for her to start obedience training. Do you have any puppy obedience classes locally?
