One of the pedigrees i've seen was under The Wolf Hybrid Society and that was dated 1996.. so i think there was no NI by name prior to that.
And it went from bad to worse once JK got her hands on them. :x
says it all..when compared to an NI`s COI doesn`t it... and mine were both by far not the highest.
talking of inbreeding.. here are the COI of my two dogs.. the first being registered with the NIS and the second coming from NIS registered parents.....
I think DNA testing is just to establish relationships between dogs.. as in proof sire or dam produced said pup... or indeed you are buying a pup...

He certainly doesn`t look like a mal cross.. he looks more like something CR and AT breeds.. or maybe an Olderhill dog.
Freya has a bad thing for Labradors.. it seems to provoke a more extreme reaction. The first time she ever had a negative reaction with another dog...
