2 GSP's too strong when walking Questions

    2 GSP's too strong when walking

    can't control them when chasing squirrels and rabbits and such ... I suppose the real issue is training, but once they go on the hunt, I can't stop them, have gone down several times. Suggestions?

    As you say, training, but squirrels will always be tempting - and you have little chance to prepare for their appearance! I can only suggest using Halti type headcollars, or to walk them one at a time, using a long line to allow some liberty.

    I would walk and train them separately until you have them under control, especially if they are of similar age they sometimes egg each other on so you have to make time for both individually.

    Good point Carol about the Haiti collars. We do have the buzzers but that requires a bit of coordination right at the moment of truth!

    Good point, GsdSlave, they are twins and yes they egg each other on. I'm now walking them separately.
