    Dogs health and ours

    The story linked to in this thread got me thinking - why do we share so many ailments with dogs?

    Genes are often commented on as being the connection.. but given that 90% of our body's cells are of our microbiome - could microbes actually be the link (and clue to disease) instead?

    What do you think... why do you think we share so many illnesses?

    i dont know but it is weird. me and phoebe both suffer with allergies and skin problems. although not allergic to same things

    I have no idea although I have actually been doing some research into the subject since Pereg was diagnosed. I looked at Ram and said words to the effect of Oh well, she is not ill she is just epileptic, and he looked at me and said "I am not ill either, I am just epileptic".

    I do not mean I have just been researching epilepsy, but also other conditions that are common to both humans and dogs, but I have yet to find any reason and/or proof.
