Thought I'd do another thread with old photos. 1. These will be dogs from 1800s-1940, I will probably do another of later dogs. 2. I have thousands of photos so if anyone knows of a program to organize them on PC that's be helpful. Something better then various folders. 3. I'd love to see old photos of other breeds if anyone had any to share. I love dog history all the way around. Didn't Pincher live to some crazy old age? Do you have any rare pictures of Dibo-onward dogs? And what did Twister do to get excluded?
@Azz I don't know that I can pick a favorite lol. But I do like his expression / head tilt. Always wonder what drew his attention as such. @lovemybull most likely yes but very many "greats" back there as I'd day closest in my dogs is probably around 17th generation. But he is seen multiple times behind Dibo (who MrBulldog mentioned) who's in a great many dogs pedigrees having a huge impact on the breed. One of my favorites overall is probably Centipede. He being closet in the 16 generation so still very far back there. Like him though! @Mr.Bulldog Not sure how long he lived? As for Twister I could only put so many Colby dogs or I wouldn't have room for any others. Not sure about rare but I plan to post a 2nd part with Dibo Era and more recent dogs.
I hoped you'd know exactly, all I know was it was some methuselah-like age. He went blind at some point but spent many years cheerfully following John Colby around the yard. I shall look forward to part 2 then, are you going for the fascinating official story of Dibo or the equally fascinating one where Earl Tudor picked up some random stray off the street and hung papers?
I don't recall perhaps it would be in my pedigree program if I could ever get my old laptop back up. Had so much info & pics there. As of right now just photos. Though there are some interesting stories behind some of these dogs. While papers might be in question I will be going by "official" for the pic threads. I heard he would register 2 litters as a single litter as well. So I imagine the mess in all that. I've also heard some various stories on Red Boy too. It's hard to sort out the truth. I might add some more to this thread to. As you mentioned Twister there was him & Dinah, Jeff several others I cut to create the thread.
