Lovely looking dogs, also looked at the link to the Appalachian Greyhound, the dog looks identical to a Lurcher, Floyd, I had many years ago, lovely:grin:

They are lovely, they look like a miniature Borzois. They won't feel the cold so much either which is really good for pets, but wouldn't all that coat slow them down when they're racing? I suppose you could have separate races for the hairy ones.

My first thought was 'Silken Windhound' a type of dog that has already come up in this section (and there are a few in the uk, I think some one on here has one?). But no they do look more 'whippety'.
Whippets are great little dog

According to some sites the long haired whippets are one of the breeds used to create the silken :) Maxine I'm not sure about racing, but the coat proberly helps protect the dogs when they are working as many whippets can suffer thin skin and get cut easily :)

Yeah thats what I find interesting makes me wonder why the Silken was created :017: I thought the Silken was created so there were smaller coated sighthound breed - but looks like there was already one - must be a reason but anyway I think they'd be better in the cold and wet than our whippet:grin: .
