New Posts Help!

    New Posts

    I keep seeing numbers by the side of New Posts, implying that I have unread new posts, when in fact there are none.

    Click on New Posts and sure enough it tells me that I do not have any new posts to view but it still shows that I have some. Currently showing 3.

    The only way I can get rid of the numbers which appear is by clicking on Mark Forums Read.

    However, surely if I do not have any unread new posts, there should not be a number next to New Posts implying that I do?

    cant help malka mine seams to keep up pretty well. it does count post not threads so right now its showing 28 on mine but only about 10 threads

    Katy, could be maybe just a hiccup as New Posts should only register unread posts. Not threads, but posts.

    My says I got 4 or 8 new posts, after I have caught up with all my new posts.

    When you click on 'new posts' do any threads show up? If so, they probably contain unread posts :)

    No. I just get the message telling me that I do not have any new posts to view. If I go through all the latest posts from the last day, two days, more - there are still no new posts that I have not already read, so there are no new unread posts or threads.

    When I come on to Breedia the first thing I do is check "New Posts". And I read them all, respond if a response is called for, then go onto the next one. And when I have read them all "New Posts" should say that there are no new unread posts, which it does.

    But I am frequently seeing a number beside "New Posts" both at the top and also on the line under "Dog Forum" when I do not have any unread posts.

    I am same as Malka go through all old post looking for any unread posts.

    Hmm it might be a bug - they are releasing up an update soon, when they do I'll upload and hopefully that'll sort it :)

    If this is a bug it is a right booger. Currently telling me I have eight new posts when I actually only have one as yet unread.

    I wonder if that is to do with posts that get moved into the Contact a Mod section (we do that sometimes if the post is spam or an advertisement, or another post that needs to be flagged up there).

    What happens if you 'mark all forums read'? Does the number go away?

    I've just clicked on Mark Forums Read, and my New Posts went immediately from 164 to zero!

    Now it's gone to 2, but when I click on it says 'no unread threads'. Must be a bug.

    It is 10.51am Israeli time - two hours ahead of UK time - Wednesday 6 August. And it shows 50 New Posts.

    But do not have any new or unread posts as I have read all new posts. :017:

    Well I really don't know what's happening because according to my computer I've got 493 new posts on Breedia which can't possibly be right because I've read most of them and replied to quite a few! Azz, do I get a prize for having more new posts than anyone else on the forum? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
