    Recommendations for a Reliable Automatic Pet Feeder?

    Hey everyone!

    I'm looking to get an automatic feeder for my pet and could use some advice. I want something reliable that dispenses food accurately and consistently, even if I’m away for a day or two. Features like a timer, portion control, and possibly app control would be a plus.

    My pet is a small dog, but I’ve heard an automatic cat feeder can work well for dogs too. Are any specific brands or models you’ve had a good experience with?

    Also, are there any common issues I should watch out for?

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    So what you’re saying is, that you would go away for a day or two and leave your dog behind to fend for itself?

    I wouldn't trust an automated feeder. Too many things to go wrong:

    1. It malfunctions and the pet can't get to the food;
    2. It malfunctions and releases all the food at once causing the dog to eat it all at once (cats are less likely to overeat);
    3. The pet smells the food inside the device and injures themselves trying to get at the food, etc.

    There is no substitute for having a real person come to feed your pet(s) while you are away - not just to make sure they eat, but to make sure they are healthy and safe. Even with an app - if no one is there, how are you going to fix a problem if it occurs?

    Dogs need more than a food dispenser. What about their need for wees, poops and companionship?
    Please do not leave your dog unattended, it is always possible that an accident could occur.

    Hello everyone!

    I'm considering getting an automatic dog feeder to help manage feeding times for my dog when I'm not around.

    I'm looking for one that’s reliable, easy to use and has features like portion control, programmable schedules, and maybe even a camera for monitoring.

    I’ve also been looking at the WOPET water fountain, which seems like a great addition to keeping my dog hydrated.

    Does anyone have experience with automatic feeders or the WOPET water fountain? What features did you find most useful, and do you have any specific recommendations?

    Thanks in advance!

    My reply is the same as last time you asked about automatic feeders. (on Feb. 13th.).

    Diane, sir (I will address you as your profile says), I have three dogs. Automatic feeders don't work for me. My dogs are not going to sit and wait their turn until one dog finishes eating. Yes, there are feeders with "dual bowls" but each of my dogs wants to have space around them while eating.

    And so is my answer, even if yours is reworded.
