Schnauzer or Tibetan, which one for me.

I am thinking of getting another dog either very soon or about November, I am trying to decide between a miniature schnauzer or a tibetan terrier, but (after seeing a few threads a cairn terrier is looking good too!)
I have read up about both breeds and I think I could cope with the grooming aspect of either as I already have a very hairy 3yr old goldie!
I want a smaller dog, but one that still likes exercise but would be quite happy to settle indoors.
    Any info welcome

Hi I have aTibby and she's very energetic, she chases around the house like a maniac, up and down the stairs too if she can! Luckily she has our other dogs to play with. She's very bouncy. She goes for long walks but doesn't care if we stay in. I'm not sure if walking uses up the energy of stores up some more! I don't know about Schnauzers but I do love the look of them with that distinctive hair cut. Hope this helps x

Thanks for your reply, I have actually managed to meet a breeder with some Tibetans and after speaking to her for some time, we both agreed the TT is not the breed for me.
The dogs were gorgeous, and so friendly but when she described their day, and grooming requirements they were far more energetic and more work than my very, very laid back golden retriever. He goes for a 1hr walk, 4hrs sleep, fed, another walk, another sleep
    Your dog sounds good fun!

I'd defo recommend as mini Schnauzer. They are really great little dogs that tend to get along well with others. I've been put off TTs because I've met a lot with aggression issues unfortunately. I think they tend to be a bit more challenging and need a lot of socialisation.

Hi Pam I have a mini called Colin!
He doesnt shed. He is only 4 1/2 month and got clipped 6 weeks ago but still looks smart. Brush him lightly every day and had no problems with matting.
He is an energetic little thing and would walk for alot longer than we allow him to at the moment
He absolutely loves people and other dogs and would go with anyone if I let him
He gets loads of attention and loves it
    I love mini's but I am biased :) xxxx
