We have no b/s, and ours never hang off stuff. For me personally (and don't shoot me down this is just my personal opinion), I don't feel the need for any of that and I do think it looks 'stereotypical'. Ours are well behaved and as mentioned before, they go out either beating/picking up, or like today one of them is dogging in for one of the shoots with the spaniels. I just don't get the whole 'it has to do this, because of it's prey drive blah blah blah' We teach the out from a young age and it is never a problem.

With regards to them behaving differently in a fight, well of course every dog behaves differently in a fight, but responsable dog ownership means you are always alert. None of our bulldogs over the years have ever got in punch up.

I do think treadmills have their uses, for example when a dog is recouperating after and injury. But it should be done in conjunction with your vet/specialist, and on a calibrated machine, not some piece of kit knocked up in someones shed.

I am not a lover of weight pull or in actual fact the whole 'athletic days' thing. I have attended a few and found that they were indeed attended by a lot (not all), of the sterotype people, with the attitude to match. Very few had dogs that didn't pull on the lead (my biggest peeve). The last one I went to 3 women got into a complete slanging match (very classy), and some clever person tied up 3 entire males to a tree and wondered why they started a fight.

Don't worry I do not have a break stick either, mine do not hang off tyres and are taught to walk by my side.

I do have a tread mill, a proper one starkerhund, think thats how it is spelt, and I use a flirt pole.

The tread mill I use to study their movement and do spot excercis for target areas and the flirt pole mainly to have a bit of fun while they are running and twisting and turning which is controlled by me.

I have had up to seven staffords living in my house at once including three intact males.

I have only known one person carry a break stick around all the time and he was no role model.
And no way am I sticking my finger in a dogs bum.

All I can say about a break stick is that I have opened a bull terriers mouth when he was suffering a rage attack, I have been able to open many Staffies mouths from different things (but not other dogs) and have managed to get a dead rabbit out of a bull masstiffs mouth, only one of the dogs were actually mine, and at the times I'm talking about I would of been around 16/17, it must be because
    A) I am totally amazing,
    B) Break sticks are more for the image, can cause damage to the dogs, and are for people who want to look 'ard and that they have 'ard dogs,
    C) both,

Personally I prefer C, its such a shame though, too many dogs are hurt because of their owners and the misuse of a break stick, and owners going around shouting from the roof tops that they are needed do not help Staffies and other breeds one bit, as all it does it help with the bad light that they are protrayed in too much already.

End of the day if you have a multi dog household with males that have to be seperated or you have a dog that doesn't want to let go accidents happen, if there is something I can use to seperate two dogs etc quickly and safely then I can't see how it can be such a bad thing ?

If anyone was to own one just to look macho then they are surely a moron!!!

Imagine if you used a stick, you wouldn't have been bit!

    I give up...lol

And actually pitbulls don't have the strongest bite, that is a myth. The width of a dog jaw determines bite pressure mastiff, rottys, bulldog ets will usually have more of a bite. But this is another topic alltogether.

actually wolves ranked higher than any other canid when a few tests we`re conducted , watch the video , rotty's won hands down when bite force was compared to the pit bull. these we`re tests carried out by national geographic.

    wolf video

as you can see he also tested other animals those which you don't see are the great white shark which came in at 680psi lion at 600psi and snapping turtle at 1004psi through tests this dr concluded wolves had the highest bite psi than any other canid that was tested , as you can see it weren`t even a full on bite  . strangely enough a mccaw rated a close second with a bite psi of 375. lastly an 18ft nile croc came in at 6000 psi

Funny how in this day and age with all the info on the web people still think pits skulls crack, they can lock their jaws and they have the biggest bite of any dog!!
