    Hello Melzy
I don't have a GD - I have a Ridgeback, so a big dog, but not as big as yours!!
I always recommend the Kong toys, not only the Kongs that you can stuff with food, but also the Air Kong range, lots of different shapes and sizes and very strong. Not indestructable but they certainly last a lot longer than your average tennis balls !!
    Good luck.

Is it a pup? Sounds like normal behaviour to me .

Get your friend to keep her daughter's teddies out of reach.

I tend to buy my three teddies from the charity shop - then they can rip them to pieces if they want - always supervised, of course :D

Oh well even stuffed toys aimed at dogs end up gutted in minutes in this house, but they do play with the skins until they have totally destroyed them, which usually takes a while. Most toys aimed at large dogs should be ok it just depends on the particular dog. Some can destroy almost anything pretty quickly others tend to be more gentle with their toys. I think it's usually trial and error to find out what survive best.

I don't think there is a stuffed toy in existence that can live for long with a determined dog  sorry
