- My Story:
-
I was raised in a home where dogs gifted my father and I the opportunity to bond. At 11 years old I began showing dogs in the F.C.I. this beautiful chapter ended when I went to collage. I rescued 2 dogs ( at different moments) each traumatized by their previous life style, so I focused on rehabilitating them emotionally. At the beginning of this year I became acquainted with a pack of Weimaraners, the bitch got pregnant of her 3rd litter. Unfortunately things weren't smooth instead of having 7 pups as she had in her previous litters she absorbed them giving birth to only 1 pup. She had through a difficult surgery, I've cared for him since day 1. My intention wasn't to keep him, he had been promised to someone else.
The bitch stayed with me for the first 2 months. Co-parenting a pup with a bitch that keeps her distance from people has been one of the most gratifying experiences in my life. Feeling love and genuine gratitude from a dog, feels so different from "I just love you cause you love me". As expected along this process I fell in love with the pup, I guess it comes with bottle feeding a pup every 2 hours. So, now Ulrich (the pup) has taken over my heart. All this has relived that passion only people that connect with dogs can understand, opening the door for a new chapter. Now, I want to take this bond to the next level and train him to be a fabulous gun dog. Our greatest challenge is that we are in Panama and I still don't own a gun.
