    2 foster whippets

On tuesday night I went to collect two more whippets Minnie and Cooper. Minnie was bred by us and Cooper is sired by one of my stud dogs.

Due to personal reasons their own found he could no longer keep them. After trying unsuccesfully to rehome them himself he contacted me for help. They have come back to us and will either be rehomes or will stay with us permanatly.

They both have issues at the moment I think basically they have not been socialised properly. On our walk on wednesday they tried to attack anything on 4 legs. Wednesday afternoon found me searching for a couple of halti's I knew I had. On our evening walk with the help of OH the haltis and a water pistol we managed to walk past dogs with no more than the odd woof.

They are progressing nicely and the improvement in the last couple of days has been amazing. It usually takes no more than a firm NO to stop them and make them behave.

    Meet Minnie and Cooper

If I can get them to learn to accept the pack and live happily with them they may well stay. If I can get the aggression under control but they wont live with my dogs then I will rehome them. Greyhound gap know of them and alerted me to the fact they were for sale and have offered to help in anyway they can if the need arises

I do have here Minnie's litter sister and her half brother and sister her sire ,granny and grandad, We also have Cooper's sire here too so they have come back to their families and will be treated as part of the pack by my dogs if we can get the 2 of them to accept my dogs

Minnie and Cooper will be looking for a new home together. OH and I have talked about it and really it is not feasible for me to keep them.

Although they will now walk past the cat without trying to eat him and they are now getting better on walks they will not accept my dogs in the house.:-( :-( :-(

Have you tried JR Whippet Rescue Mrs L. Jones 01234 838927 they usually have a waiting list of people offering homes. They are always good with their home checks.I love whippets but have 4 Borzoi & A whippet x Bedlington and 2 small others so not too much room to spare. I am sure they will fall on their pads somewhere! Good luck8)
