Cassie often gets called a greyhound or a whippet, we then explain what a lurcher is.

Funny what peoples perception of what a certain breed looks like

I just tell everyone who asks.. they are Husky/German Shepherd crosses.

At a recent BSD show I was told Trix is a full Malinois, by a breed judge.
She is a GSD x Mal

Louie has been called an Irish Setter before and more common - Chocolate Lab - I can forgive that one. (Lab x ESS)

Sadie has been one of those funny looking Staffies and also a long legged CKC.

    She's Border collie x JRT

When Skye was very young and her coat was alot darker and fluffier most people would ask if she was a miniture version of Ivan!!!
Now she is fully grown people think she is a cavalier even people we meet who own cavaliers.

On two separate occasions I've been asked if my adult Schipperke is a Husky pup! I've also been told she's a Corgi cross a Chi cross.

Greyhounds, Whippets, and even With Diesel a Pharoah hound, although some people think that they are pedigrees anyway, even someone who works at a rescue did, as he goes to me 'their not pure breed Lurchers are they?'

I've never had it with my dog, but people have said that my bf's parents' dog is a Lab - he's a Springer cross Lab, so in fairness he does look similar to a young Lab.

One woman started an argument with me saying he was under 6 months old and a Lab puppy, when he's actually 7 years old!! :-o

Office lurcher is often mistaken for a Greyhound. Not too surprising. Difference is obvious if you could see her with a greyhound; she's a lot more solid.

Kismet is unsurprisingly mistaken for a Sibe mostly, but recently one lady who used to own them thought she was a Buhund?.. Probably because she's too short and stocky to be a Sibe:)

Yep, all the time because he looks just like a solid liver GWP which is a permissible colour in the breed. When I took him to the breed club day even the breed experts couldnt tell he was a crossbreed.

But to be fair, he is crossed with something that has the GWP in it's breed make-up anyway.

I have one of them too! :D Is he chocolate, yellow or black?

They're the experts, didn't you know - you should ALWAYS listen to them. ;)

Lottie often gets mistaken for a hairy Giant Schnauzer, but has also been called a Briard, Afghan or Wolfhound:grin:
