Not that it bothers me but might be interesting to others. This has been copied and pasted from another site, posted by someone I trust, and might be of use to some people. To use Windows 10 without entering your Microsoft account password complete the following steps (illustrated below): • Type netplwiz in the Start menu search bar, then click the top result to run the command • Remove the tick from the box next to 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' and hit Apply • Enter your username and password, then re-enter your password. Click Ok • Click Ok again to save the changes
Did it work? I have not bothered as I actually rather like the fact that nobody can get into my computer if it is closed or if it is in Sleep mode [as usual at night - I never actually close or unplug my PC]. I am sure that Effie, my computer guru, could, somehow - after all, he built this [and my previous] PCs and had been Beta testing Windows 10 for yonks, but whether he would bother, I do not know. W10 is on my Hotmail account, which is not accessible now, only on W10, so even if someone knew that email account they still could not get in as I changed the password. There are only three passwords I need to remember, everything else, including Breedia, is set "Remember me" so are automatically connected when I open the tab. W10 and the two sites I use for online purchases. So I think I will keep my W10 password - because I do not want anyone to know where and what I post. @Chris B - I tend to keep information such as in my OP not just for me, but for others who it might help.
Hubby did ours and yes it worked. I know he used the netplwiz because I looked it up for him. These days, there's nothing on my computer that would be of interest to anyone even if they did access it
