I have a new English Pointer puppy (13 wks) old. I am looking for a hunting training program that does not use shock collars. If you can recommend someone it would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, but I'm in the UK, so have no personal knowledge. You could start off by doing an AKC search under Performance Dog Clubs. The results are listed State by State, and are mixed, (so many Beagle Clubs!), - you will have to scroll down through the lists. Once you have made contact with a club secretary, you will be able to ask questions and weigh up their recommendations. You are right to look for a trainer that uses positive methodology, English Pointers can be quite a sensitive breed.
