    Sterilization ridgback

    Hi All, i m new to this, so sorry if i write something wrong. And english is not my first language.
    I have RR and she is 4months old. My question is when is the best time to sterilization. I dont plan and want to breed and have puppies.

    Personally, the earliest I would spay would be three months after the first or second season - depending on the age at which the bitch has her first season. I believe that they need their hormones to aid bone development until the growth plates have closed. There are other opinions though, some researchers believe that juvenile spaying lessens the risk of certain cancers. Your environment plays a part too, it is not always easy to protect your bitch from the attention of stray dogs in some areas of the world. I would advise you to research all you can and consider all the evidence before making your decision.
