Hi Everyone, I'm Joe, Owned by 2 rescued "KAY-NAH" (just had to..lol, those who know, know) Corso's currently. Shared life with a few other Cane Corso fosters also. Since owning a house in wide open country for the past 34 years plus, I have always shared life with large breed dogs, the past 15 years or more, Corso specific. I work with rescues, keep my eyes on shelters, and am passionate about the breed. I have done A LOT of research on this breed specific, Good breeders, and behaviorism. I've had many conversations with some, what I consider great breeders, trainers, and behaviorists. I also believe, I have gained a lot of "different" experience with the breed from working with "older" rescues. I haven't met a bad one yet. Very challenging, yes, but an awesome breed indeed. I've always wanted to raise one from a puppy, but my heart goes to rescue. Every Corso I've had the pleasure of sharing life with has come to me at the age 5 years and up. Unfortunately, All have had the word I wont use "aggressive" somewhere in there files. All have had issues because there not socialized. This breed does not do good in a shelter environment, so issues there also. Yes, there's a lot to consider taking on such like, liability, but were there under control. I wouldn't recommend this to just anyone. The only way they would have free access to someone, without restraint, is if they tried breaking into our home. I'll look forward to helping out wherever can. Enjoy the day!! (pictures will come)
Hi @Joe728 welcome aboard There is a lot of controversy regarding these in the uk, people that own some (I say some but not all) usually have them for status reasons and give the dogs amongst others a bad name, a dog is only as bad as the owner!! Also I have to see them with cropped ears and docked tails, which is illegal here now, unless working dogs (tails) I do like big dogs but I’m a springer owner now and have 2 currently, though years ago I owned a Rottweiler for 13 years and he loved my children and anybody who visited. it’s nice to know that there are people out there giving these dogs a second chance of being wanted and rehabilitating them.
