Can Huskys have long hair? All the pics i've seen they have shortish hair, if not, which breed looks similar with longer hair? Thanks
Alaskan malamutes can have longer hair and look similar.. Cruiser is longer coated compared to Lola.. I have seen a pic of a longer coated Sibe but not seen many,,
wanted to add if you look for some of Mo's posts in the pics section.. there is of course her pack of 4 who have "normal" coats.. and one of the pups she bred the gorgeous Nanook.. he is longer coated..
Thanks! I'll try and get pics tomorrow, and maybe someone will know! I don't really know much about those types of breeds
Hi hevvur , siberian huskies don't have long hair , but some do have long hair but its considered a fault in siberians, i have seen 1 or 2 with a long coat, think its in some certain breeding lines but not sure which ones, i think HUSKADIE on this forum was trying to find a home for 1 not long ago, its now got a home but that one had a long coat on it. some malamutes i have seen did have long fur too, not sure if thats a fault in them or not, hope thats helped a little.:? ;-)
As I said in my first post yes Malamutes do sometimes have a long coat.. it is NOT in the Breed Standard so in that respect yes its classed as a fault.. Cruiser is longer coated so is not breed standard Lola has a normal coat though.. here is a pic which shows both of them Although Cruiser still has a puppy coat..
