ok - ebony is 8mths old, im sure shes small for her age! Put a pic on here! i reacon she'll beat her adult height now, but its 10 years since i had a puppy now, so not sure if im been paranoid or not! Shes very long though, with a small head. Ive got her first schutzhund training tom, and sure she's gonna get slated compared to all the other dog looks wise! not that im fussed. She gets fed natures best puppy large breed. any comments please - shes a lovely if not slightly manic dog!!!!!!!
She is beautiful - look at the shine on that coat. I have found that working type GSDs are smaller than the general show/pet/obedience GSDs you see around and more compact. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
heres another pic too. cant see much but you get the general idea! lol! scuse my fat bottom!!!:? lol i am all excited about tomorrow if not a bit nervous! i keep seeing lots of fluffy gsds and getting broody so god help me tomorrow, i'll post an update i the training bit with possibly some pics! bought nice new red collar and a dumb bell for her! I am sure i am paranoid about her size - she sonly 8 mth sold!! can you imagine what im like with my kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well i had fun LOL seems not only is my pouch a bit small for a gsd lol but shed rather stand and idolise mummy than play with balls!!! i let her off lead - first time anywhere other than my stables and field (which is all enclosed), and just stood there, she was v happy to run round and follow me and that was it!! she was very nervous and very timid but soon was ok with men (which she normally hates!) and fine with proper gsd's. We tried everything to get to play with balls toys anything, but she was just interested in looking at me and wanting to play with me!! ive spent last 3 days trying to get her to play properly as at home she'll play with big bones and her bedding and nick laundry out of my basket, move great big patio stones but not interested in balls etc... tonight i had a small break hroug when she went for tennis ball a few times and picked it up!!! they said i had 8 mths to catch up on and had a hard task ahead but not impossible. i loved watching though it was fabby!!! and i got some cake too think the not playing with balls is cos my gsd i lost in nov wouldnt let her play with them!! unless sybil wanted her to join her of course!
Hi not sure how tall you are to compare, but remember a bitch should be 57.5cm with an allowance of 2.5cm above or below (approx 2.54 cm = 1inch) with males being larger, so if you have a bitch min size and compared it to a top size male there would be quite a difference. I have 2 males, 1 is top size but he looks small when you stand him next to my oversize one. I wouldnt worry if you are not going to show it wouldnt matter anyhow just enjoy and good luck with the training. Pam
hi - im about 5ft 1 or 2 at most!!when OH gets home i'll grab te tape measure out. i think shes about 19 inch to point of shoulder. honest she tiny! but shes great fun!!!!
I wouldn't worrie about her hight all GSD's vary, I keep the straight back type so they tend to come in taller then the slanty back type ( Show ring style|). As long as she is healthy and you are happy with her that is all that matters!!
Suzanne, I have a black and tan which seems to be small for her breed. You're girl is gorgeous. I've found that a lot of blacks seem to be more streamlined than thier black and tan relatives. My daughter has a long haired black girl, and she doesn't seem to be as heavy boned as most GSDs. You're girl reminds me so much of my Storm. Not very confidant, and a complete wrigglepants
lol - Ebony is just that take her out n shes not confident and has a bootie that wriggles!!!!!! they must be related lol
They sound like they are It's when the tail that's attatched to that bootie clears a coffee table in seconds
She is gorgeous! I wouldnt worry if she wasnt huge - you know what they same - the best things some in small sizes lol
