Kyra used to suffer on and off from gurgling tummy, she would go off her food and sometimes bring up bile, which is often caused by gas in stomach. I would try a high quality probiotic like Pro-Kolin paste or YUMPRO made by Lintbells. It’s a combined probiotic and prebiotic and includes beta glucans designed for daily use. They also do a more powerful veterinary strength version for dogs. I also gave ‘Solgar’ digestive enzymes with good results. It could also be a sign of IBD.
I understand your doubts about Apoquel, but for highly allergic dogs, many owners have found it one of the few successful treatments. Did you try an antihistamine first? Piriton has a really good safety record for dogs, and is cheap to buy over the counter. Dosage can be checked on Google, but don't tell the pharmacist that it is for a dog, or they will refer you back to a vet. Early morning sickness can often be prevented by feeding a light supper before retiring for the night. It can caused by too much acid in the stomach.
