We have in rescue what is supposed to be a short-haired Tibetan Spaniel His owner bought him from a breeder in France, before emigrating to the UK. Apparently she'd bought him from a breeder who specialises short coats ? I've never seen or heard of a short coated Tibbie before, has anyone else? Despite his pedigree, he looks like a crossbreed to me :smt001

I looked up Tibetan Spaniel and the above description was what I got. No variation in coat length... Is there a short coated version of either breed?
no he's supposed to be a short haired Tibetan Spaniel All the Tibetan Spaniels I've seen or heard about, are all the same, they have a semi long coat, this dog has a short coat like that of a lab.
After over a month of trying to get hold of the breeder I finally managed to speak to her today Apparently she's the only one that breeds short coated T.Spaniels, that she knows of. She managed this by introducing Griffin (Petit Brabancon) to her breeding line! So when I stated she was if fact breeding crossbreeds she got very angry and hung up on me So basically Bobby isn't a short breed Tibetan Spaniel, he's a Tibbie x Griffin ;-)
