I just wondered does anyone else have a lurcher that swims, because Diesel is the only one that I have seen, and I'm sure that there must be more, and if your dog does swim do you have any pics? Here is a pic of Diesel, if it works lol.
Great pics!! Blue my greyhound swims...he looks like a hippo cos you can only see his eyes he goes so far under the water!!
If there are ducks around i have to keep him on the long line!!! He likes the paddling pool too! ETA Its not really the 1st of Jan ! The date is wrong on my camera!
No my lurcher won't swim, but I wish she would! I thougt it was because of her skinny body not being very good at paddling. The only time she has swum is when she accidentally fell in. Maybe one day I'll pick her up and carry her in! I haven't fancied it yet though...
Cassie doesnt swim but she does love the Water and will go in right to her chest. We have a video on you tube of her going in the river after a ball . . . Will dig it out later.
my dear beloved lurcher 'Dizzy' (rip:-( ) used to swim all the time, couldnt keep him out of it,his favourite trick was breaking the ice to go for a swim, the colder the better:? he would also dive under the water and collect all the rubbish out,bit by bit and pile it up.!!!.sadly he had an accident and had spinal nerve damage but learnt to walk again, hydrotherapy really helped and being 'part fish' he loved it,conviently i was a hydrotherapist in his older years, our clients loved him and would let him swim in relay after toys with their dogs,to make it more 'fun' for their pets.;-) i miss him soooo much!:-( :-(
Nippy (RIP) was a Lurcher and would swim for England. Unfortunately I haven't got any photos :-( Mo is a Long dog and won't put as much as a paw in the water
No, Sadie will wade in as far as her chest and that's it, her feet never leave the floor. But she's a pretty tall dog anyway.
Honey won't swim, unless she falls in lol, but she will paddle and put her head in the water to get out boulders lol.
