I've just found your videos and watched them (sound turned off). It was really sad seeing pups growing up in quarantine, personally I couldn't have done that no much how much I wanted a particular breed. But otherwise I was starting to think that you really did have their best interests at heart and was prepared to believe that you were just in it for the love of the breed. ....that is until I got just under 3 minutes into the the 8th video and my blood turned cold. Looks very much like you are trying to teach him to be a personal protection dog (for those you haven't seen this - using a riding crop and sleeve to wind up the dog). If you love your dogs please, please stop this kind of training/play. It will end in tears...maybe yours, maybe someone elses's, but likely both. I have no doubt that this is certainly an accident waiting to happen.
that was the first time an last time..it was just to show both aspects of this breed..did you not see the end of the clip when with the kids??? you didnt mention that?
Can i ask why you choose this breed ?? I have seen people go through certain breeds like one up manship (not thinking of you in this group btw),, Be it the boerboel ,Belgian mastiffs,Caucasian Ovtcharka and the other eastern dogs .. There used to be a man near where i worked that had 2 Bull Arabs and lived in a council flat ,I really wanted to ask him if there were many wild boar in muswell hill ..;lol
I'm not going to look at the videos. But I can see where a lot of you are coming from with your negativity. With the huge problem with SBTs in rescues in UK now. Almost everyone seems to agree the reason for that is that their previous owners got them just because they looked so tough and it made them look tough too. I can see exactly the same fate awaiting a breed like this.
Reading this thread, you'd think the op had purchased a 'designer' bull breed mix, out of the free ads with no thought. The way the import regs used to work, I'd have thought would dissuade those of that mentality...if not, the cost probably would. I've not seen the videos so I may've missed something mind you. I can't say I agree with breeding the first examples of the breed owned however, it's done now, and we all do things we may later come to regret.
Why do it in the first place? I own a LGD, but I wouldn't dream of showing the other aspect of the breed by chaining him up like the Tibetan nomads do and having someone goad him into reacting or further testing his guarding instinct (which I can attest to him posessing) by getting a mate to pad up and threaten me. And I don't think any of the breeders or owners of Tibetan Mastiffs did such a thing when the breed first arrived in the UK either. I would never call my dog's bluff to film it. Actually, I wouldn't insult his intelligence as he's extremely well socialised and I trust him implicitly to behave appropriately, be that as a social butterfly or as my protector. I really don't want to drive you away or tar you with the aforementioned brush of having a small todger. ;-) But you're going to hear much worse. With breeds like this you really need to be ultra careful and think about the responsibility you have towards the breed you want to introduce to the UK. If you indeed want to be taken seriously and stand any hope of getting the breed on the KC's import register, you'll need to think about how you are promoting the breed down to the subatomic level. It's this kind of stuff on youtube that can be misconstrued as crass, macho showing off and can only serve to attract the very people who want them for the wrong reasons. It's not like anybody is going to see the dogs with the kids and think a Bully Kutta would be an idea labrador substitute, is it?
Its not that you're not welcome. I admit, I was sceptical of your reasons for wanting to import a dog like this - the costs must've been really high and you said yourself you weren't sure what you were letting yourself in for. But I reserved judgement until after I watched your videos and yes, from those your dogs seem very gentle and friendly with people they know. ..which made me all the sadder to see the clip with the riding crop/sleeve. But I am really pleased to hear that it was the first and last time...he does seem a nice dog and it would be such a shame to spoil that. I hope you do stick around so that we can see more of their gentle temperament
I think maybe because the OP is of Pakistani origin? And I can see why he might be drawn to the breed for that reason (and well, all bully's are lovely ). Anyway, what plans do you have for your four BKs now Real Deal? Do they live in the home with you? Or outside? Do you have any other dogs? Are you planning on breeding? Post some pics - I'd be interested in seeing more being a bull breed fan.
There was a litter for sale a while back that started with a £2000 price tag that keep going down in price as the weeks went on .. No idea how much they went for in the end..
what is wrong with a dog that looks intimidating?iv got 4 ,they provide a service, to me and my property, just as a cute little one does for you...but the y got to bark, alert you to someting.mine just sit there and do the same job...there fine, but you dont know that,yet...and i like that, they keep my family safe...and so do the cute and small.there just a dog.....more so, when its yours.
its quite simple i like big dogs(an by the way anatomy has nothing to do with that)if you want to talk like that then maybe its you how should be on a diff forum!!! i saw the breed when abroad liked it an bought it.i have aways believed that the owner makes the dog what it is.yes its a formidable dog an i dont need the dog to intimidate ppl,,why would i want to do that???everyone has there own tastes in dogs does that make anyone better then the other?if i wanted to bring a mad dog over here i would have bought over a pair of fully grown unrelated pair instead i bought a pair of sibling pups because i didnt want to seperate them that was an additional cost which i was prepared to pay.an 6months in quarantine was tough on them but a small price to pay compared to the life there.these dogsare loving an protective of my family an property no one is going to get in my garden.i am very happy an proud of them wouldnt change them for anything.an if you thing the average yob is going to walk around with 1 of these dogs i doubt it very much there not cheao to keep they eat like horses i hope 1 day people see these dogs in a diff light which was what i wanted to do.i have my pup who is not from my pair the sire was .. unrelated.i am not planning any breeding as yet.an you guys are hard work;-) i just want to enjoy an care for my dogs..
Well in that case I am prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt - and I hope you will understand why so many of us were being sceptical, because such dogs are more often than not attracted to exactly the type of people many of us have posted about in this thread. (Surely you've seen that yourself - just google it.) So... I agree with VB - pics please
I'm a girl. But I like powerful dogs. The power does not have to be massive muscle, to me a Greyhound has power. When running, to me they do. Me boy at work is a Mastiff. Who has nipped me, causing loads of bruising, for someone who doesn't bruise easily. I've still got a mark on the skin now, but now I can lay down, use him as a pillow, and have a nap with him. And I've still got lumps in me arm because a German Shepherd bit me. I don't like these dogs because I have a small penis. And tbh, being as their what some men look at (ok prolly more then some), I haven't got small boobs that I'm trying to make up for either. But to me I like powerful dogs, because to me seeing a powerful animal move, is well magic. Knowing what them animals can do, and then being able to lay down with them, know they can hurt you, but trust them not to. To me, is amazing. I love it. Although some people may not understand it, thats up to them. I also admire Crocs, and wanna go cave diving with great white sharks. To me there's something that draws me in. And as long as people are responsible, its up to them. I mean there are other breeds that it probally isn't right or fair to have them in this country, or as pets. Someone brought in a Kelpie cross, that they had in a flat. Is that fair? Anyways, can we have pics please, I can't watch vids on this computer, but do love the big boys.
And how will you achieve that, Have you the knowledge to breed out the aggression in these dogs, from what I see, the dogs you have are very primitive in their breeding , and as for you "showing the other side to them" , I ask WHY?? for what point are you doing that, other than to appeal to a market. Does the other side of them, appeal to the market you wish to target, because they sure wont appeal to the pet market. I would hope that dogs that have only been bred for their aggression, are not put it any pet homeS. What is your market for these dogs, who will be your customers. Are you targeting the guard dog market, those who want a hard dog that looks aggressive and acts it then challenged. Do you know how to breed these dogs so you can dilute the aggression... because from where I am sitting I cant see any good in such dogs being introduced here.
