My Frenchie was napping with me this morning and jumped off the bed when someone knocked at the door. The bed is 33 inches high and he has never done this before. It was so sudden and unexpected. I was in shock. He ran to the front door barking and appears ok, but I am worried about spinal injuries. Anyone have advice?
If he looks and acts OK, the chances are that he is OK. I would expect his shoulders to have taken most of the jolt. Keep an eye on him just in case. Sometimes lameness or stiffness can show up after they have rested - in which case you should get him checked over by a vet.
