John, my just over six-year old who has been with me as a six-week old pup knows exactly which side of the bed is hers, and it is not mine as I sleep in the middle.

As she can move faster then I can we now have a "move" - "shift" - and "get your butt over or I will be extremely cross" on some nights. Result being quiet growls and mutters and making herself more comfortable. But she does eventually more. Most nights.

Pikey sounds adorable. He is giving you something to do, something to think and wonder about - and it sounds like he has settled well in with you. He is Pikey and not your Joe and is just showing you that he is showing you who he is.

So love him for how he is and try not to compare him to your beloved Joe.
