I've got an old book called 'Our Princesses and Their Dogs' that shows the Queen as a young girl with the family dogs and the Pembroke Corgis look so different from the type you see now. They seem to be lighter build, slightly longer on the leg and with a narrower head and much more alert and workmanlike expression. The coats seem closer-fitting and less 'plush' too.

I see someone walking 2 Cardigans when I drive up to Kendal sometimes - lovely dogs too, but so heavy, broad and low-slung!

I'd love to see some pics of Corgis at work!
