Younger puppies can now compete at Crufts

PUPPIES who qualify for Crufts at Boston and Manchester ch shows can now compete at Crufts the same year.
The Kennel Club has changed the minimum age requirement for dogs competing at Crufts from eight months to six, meaning that the show will now host minor puppy, puppy and junior classes.
The change, which means that dogs must be a minimum of six months old on the first day of the show, allows Crufts to fall in line with other KC-licensed events.
The closing dates for postal entries for Crufts 2015 will be Monday January 5, 2015, and online Monday January 19, 2015. Dogs who qualify after January 5, 2015 can be entered online only.

This means we be having an puppy winning best in show at Crufts, then she/he will be used for breeding before they are even 2 years old

It would be extremely unlikely for such a young pup to win best in show at crufts,(( or for that matter any other show) it will be up against to many mature dogs.....plus it's a bit of an exaggeration to say they will be used for breeding before they are two...you don't know that, just assume I.

I still can't see how a 6 mth old can compete in a class... If your 6 mth old qualifies at either manchester or Boston ( the last two chances) , that's in January... By the time they get to crufts they will be 8 mths old, and no matter which show the start at they can't compete till they are 6 mths :102:

So how can they say they can compete at 6 mths, it's still the same as usual around 8 mths old :102:

There are Crufts winning bitches & dogs that are under 2 being offered up for mating right now.

But that does not mean ALL will be, Allowing a dog to compete a couple of mths earlier is not going to make an influx of breeding machines, and as I said it's highly unlikely for a dog as young as 6 mths to win best in show at crufts, if fact if you do the maths, it's impossible .
