    Malamute & Siberian Togther

    Hi,

Does anyone own these 2 breeds together, we have had our female malamute for 2.5 years now and my sister has just got a male Siberian husky 2 years old, they first met today but they had 2 scraps both dogs was on leads and I'm not sure what to think of it.

    will they get on together?

Hi and welcome I've not got both only female husky, but will ask are both dogs neutered to start with and have they been socialised with other dogs at all? dogs just don't get on with each other they need to be introduced bit at a time. My husky is really submissive but will stand up for herself.perhaps introduce both dogs at a distance let them sniff etc have they not had chance to meet gently or may by go for a walk together where the emphasis isn't just on both dogs?

I see from a previous thread you bitch was very ill, could be she’s not fully recovered, or if the male was being pushy she could have been putting him in his place, best thing to do is meet up somewhere on neutral ground, both dogs on short leads ‘opposite sides to each other and go for a walk, do it like this till they get used to each other then you can try walking them side by side.
