Ouch. That is annoying. You might go ahead and contact where you bought it from. I've done that and some places will actually send you a new complete item and not make you ship back the old one.

I had that happen with my gazebo and a small chest of drawers. Both times I was told to "donate or keep the damaged one for parts".

The good news is that I have been a very good client. Both the head guy and the guy doing the work have been very happy with me. I made sure that everything was here before he needed it - so there was no delay while they waited for supplies. The few concerns that popped up I was reasonable and willing to work with them. And I provided snacks each and every day. Yesterday I sent the guy doing the work home with bags of the candy for his kids.

So, with that, they are going to use the pipes they have in their shop for my repair job and just charge me for the labor.

I'm also letting them keep extra parts from what I bought that weren't used. I bought new linoleum for the upstairs bathroom. I only need about 36 square feet, but the flooring I chose was a remnant and came in a piece about 200 sq ft. So I told them that they can keep the excess figuring if they have a job where they need to replace a small section of flooring for someone they could use it and save that person a few bucks. I'll just have them cut me a small piece to keep so if I ever need to replace the rest of the upstairs, I can take it to the flooring store with me to find a coordinating look.

As it is, I have glued it, will have to see how it dries. I feel happier after realising that a brace wouldn't interfere with the drawer runner at all. If the glue doesn't hold I can screw on a small, lightweight plate to hold it.
They sound like nice fellas doing your bathroom. I've been lucky finding Tony to do my windows too. He is a general builder but it suits us both to jigsaw my work in between his other projects. He has let me pay for the windows using his trade account discount. He charges me a day rate, brings his own lunch, so I only have to supply cakes or biscuits, (choc digestives raised a smile), and a dozen mugs of tea a day. He cleans up too, and takes away all of the scrap!

I'm really glad I found these guys. They have truly been wonderful to deal with.

Tony sounds like he's cut from the same cloth. It's great to find guys like these, especially after reading some of the horror stories about remodels, etc. One person had picked out their bathroom tile and the contractor refused to install it because it was too dark...

I'm glad you are able to fix the drawer. I would still contact the resaler - they may give you a partial refund for keeping it as is.

I'm still deciding on the strip above the tile. I might paint it solid bronze like the medicine cabinet or antiqued. Or I could do a darker bronze that will fade in to the tile more. Leaning towards the last but will think on it for a while.

What a difference! Are you not having a bath or is there one in the downstairs bathroom?
It looks stunning and very high end.
I think I would pick the bronze of the med cabinet for the strip. You could always go darker if you didn't like it.
What colour will the inside of the door be?
