but if you did decided to breed, what would you breed him with? he may have a great temperament etc, but the pups will be a mixture of both parents...

I think it matters a lot. You asked if we thought she was ethical or not, and from your response then IMHO, she is unethical.
so what is she wanting to achieve by mating the 2? what can the 'puggles' provide, that another actual breed cant?
if he wants to blame himself then that is for him to decide (i think most people would do the same), but that doesnt mean it is his fault and others...

Depends if they were crossbreeding to create something for a purpose. Or just doing it for the sake of it. I am confused about what your post is...

I dont have anything against that kind of crossbreeding either, same as the original reason for crossing Labradors with poodles... it just didnt work...
but why do people need to crossbreed to get a good pet? Pedigrees make good pets, as do crossbreeds from a rescue. there is just no need to breed...
I think most breeders of crossbreeds are unethical coz they arent setting out to achieve anything. IMO an ethical pedigree breeder is one who breeds...
