The front page of our local paper carries a story about Fergus, an eight year old Welsh Springer, who has just completed the Wainwright Coast to Coast Walk (along with his owners of course!) It is a 192 mile walk, and took 18 days. Fergus nearly died five years ago when he was struck down with Seasonal Canine Illness, and the walk was to raise money for the Animal Health Trust. Also in the paper, people are invited to go to the local library to meet Zippy, who is apparently appearing in an ITV series 'Me and My Guide Dog' - he is being puppy walked by a local couple. So this was all very nice, until I got to the Letters Page, when there was the inevitable complaints about dog fouling along the Spa Trail. Why oh why won't people pick up after their dogs
