This breed has been mentioned at least once in my time on here (but the lady never came back:-( ).....just wondering what others thoughts are on this breed

I would assume, as I'm the same, when the dogs are breed to a standard, and kept to that standard for a while, health tests done on the dogs, and the lesser quality (hate saying that) dogs weaned out, and the KC register them as a breed, which might never happen, I mean look at JRs, so at the moment they are just a cross breed

In about 60 years time after many very many litters(1,000s)have been bred & interbred with no other breeds introduced & the dogs always breed true. Any dog that does not meet the "breed" requirements in any way of course must be disregarded & either neutered & rehomed or culled. This is how the the accepted breeds were developed.

Of course the dog would have to have a function of course & IMHO this mix does not have any function except to make dosh for the con merchants who produce it

I know culling was acceptable in the past during breed development, but surely not now??!!

Even Neutering is considered culling, as you are removing the dog from the gene pool, is that unnacceptable, and unfornatly it would more then likely have to happen in varying degrees to create a new breed, as who knows what will come out of a litter.

err...puppies generally??? Sorry but I have to disagree, neutering is preventative - at no stage are you culling puppies!

last time we spayed a dog im sure we took the ovaries and womb

but yes, there is only the spay/neut option.

I'm not saying culling is acceptable, but the number of puppies that would not be included in the breeding program would be huge(in fact most of them)& what do you do if you are developing a breed simply for money-cut your losses & cull the puppies.

Bear in mind that the people doing this will not be "ethical"breeders they will be breeding a designer dog not developing a breed to do a set function & unbreedable puppies are worthless.

Breeds are breeds when they breed true.

They certainly don't await KC recognition.

fair enough. I just don't get why someone would do that to create a new breed, when they are so many fabulous well established breeds already.
